The recruits.lsu Instagram page hinted that Finney may be waiting for some definitive news on our defensive coaching staff.

He's from California. The only reason he chose LSU is because he wants to play for Corey Raymond. If Raymond isn't on staff, there is no draw for him to LSU.

This one was expected based on him only wanting to play for Corey Raymond. If Raymond isn't on staff next season then he has no reason to come to LSU from Cali.

My guess is he’s waiting for the DC hire to play out. He likely has a very good idea of what Baker will do.
If our DC is not Baker, he may want his DC to pick his guys. I’d love to retain Raymond for LSU DNA. We’ll see.

I don't understand how they haven't let recruits know that Raymond is staying.
What dc coming in wouldn't want Raymond. This makes no sense to me.

Lots of DCs wouldn't want that decision taken out of their hands. Most would keep him on their own but still don't like being pushed.

Lane should already have committed to Raymond regardless of who ends up DC. That should be non negotiable and any DC worth a damn would be thrilled to have Raymond on staff.
