Here's all that needs to happen:
1. ICE shows up somewhere wearing masks and making arrests.
2. Local police attempt to "intervene" (the level of intervention is key here).
---If the locals show up and talk to a sole ICE agent then leave, that's one thing. If they attempt to physically hamper ICE activities, that's a whole different ballgame.
3. Federal agents show up later at the homes of the officers and arrest them wile simultaneously showing up at the Chief's office with subpoenas for every bit of communication from the Chief's personal and work emails and files regarding the Somali community, with Somali community leaders, Democratic Party leaders and any pertinent foreign interests.
---The subsequent video of federal agents carting boxes of potential evidence out of the local PD will make plenty of Somali and Somali-supporter sphincters clench.
4. If evidence exists, the Chief gets arrested as well. Maybe even the Mayor, if there is a direct line of contact instructing local officers to attempt to physically impair ICE agents doing their lawful job.

He is saying that they will look into anyone pretending to be an ICE agent.

I don’t think any of these officials will do anything to directly interfere with arrests.
They will pull sneaky shite like releasing the ones they have in custody though.

Why wait? Why not arrest them on the spot when they attempt to physically hamper?

Remember this when local police tried to interfere with a Federal Agent?

I think a local police vs federal officers kinetic event could snowball into something very terrible very national very quickly, I'm talking within days if not hours terribly.

It means they are far more interested in keeping their illegal population than they are finding your stolen car that the illegal population took.

PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE - send out your police to intervene in a federal operation to execute a lawful removal of illegal aliens = PLEASE try to do this - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !!!
Bring your video cameras - bring your paid goons in support - the celebration afterwards will be enjoyed in future generations as examples of things to not even consider doing.
Minneapolis = show us your intellectual level in understanding true American culture.

Can you be our Attorney General please?

I am, and have always been, FOR state and local authority to trump federal authority in all matters regarding authority that has not been granted to the federal government in the Constitution.
However... Immigration is indeed within the purview of the federal government and not that of the states nor of local jurisdiction. This has been upheld multiple times when border states such as Texas and Arizona have sought to enforce federal immigration laws and the Biden administration (arm in arm with the courts) held the states in check by ruling that only the federal government had the authority to enforce those laws.
Going by that precedent, as well as constitutional authority, there could be a significant group of local LEO individuals who find themselves enjoying extended stays at federal prisons if they attempt to hinder the enforcement of federal immigration law.

That really depends on the numbers. In a large municipality like Minneapolis, there's likely to be a LOT more local officers who respond than there are ICE agents making arrests.
Here's a likely scenario:
A half-dozen ICE agents roll up on a Home Depot parking lot loaded with illegals. The illegals scatter so ICE agents are on the chase.
Meanwhile, a local PD cruiser shows up, sees what's going on, calls for lots of backup and a dozen officers show up and they start "arresting" the nearest ICE agents one-by-one.
At this point the local officers are more numerous and concentrated while the ICE agents are fewer and scattered. There is no way an ICE agent is arresting a local officer in this scenario so the only real option is to allow the locals to do what they are going to do, but then arrest them later for it when the numbers game is reversed AND they have a warrant for the cop's arrest.
