If Lane left for any other blue blood like Texas, Bama, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan.....

Not a word would be said. Just like the media obsession with Wade. They all know when LSU has the right people in place that our recruiting is top notch and the state borders are shut down while we are still able to raid top talent from other states. LSU has shown commitment to NIL as well. With Louisiana rich high school football and NIL, Lane has now been handed the keys to a program that can be on top again for a number of years.
Screw all the media haters. They can STTDB.

Some of these "analysts" have shown their true colors with comments implying that LSU isn't much better of a program than Ole Miss, which is downright absurd.
LSU is miles ahead of Ole Miss in almost every metric in which you can measure the quality of a college football program

Their 3 "national championships" are almost as much a reach as the shite Auburn recently tried to pull.

Are the Ole Miss nattys even real?

When Ohio State came in and took Judkins, Lane knew he needed to leave. LSU is one of the top 5 destinations.
LSU is the most polarizing because we’re not the polished program that media keeps on the mantle. It’s the fourth child that the parents got too old to take care of and his older siblings make sure he stays out of trouble. The one that is going to succeed, but you don’t know how he’s going to get there.
LSU is the one you call when you need some questionable things done correctly.

Not sure why anyone would down vote your statement, there is nothing you said that is not true.

LSU almost lost as many bowl games as Ole Miss has won lmao

Whomever is spouting this nonsense on tv should have their media credentials pulled on the spot. Only OM fans and people who dislike Lane would parrot this silliness. Lane made OM, not the other way around.

Much of this is sour grapes based solely on prediction. “Lane won’t leave. He has it just as good at ole miss. I’m doubling down- Lane won’t leave.”
Now they have egg bowl on their collective faces.
No one likes to be wrong. Particularly when you beat your chest with fervor.

If you are going to give Ole Miss 3 national champions, you most likely need to bump LSU's total up to 8

There is some merit to all three of their claims (1959, 1960, 1962) but Ole Miss has never been ranked #1 in the final AP poll.
They went 10-1 in 1959, but AP voters gave the title to undefeated Syracuse. Guess who gave Ole Miss their 1 loss that season?
They went 10-0-1 in 1960, but AP voters gave the title to 8-2 Minnesota. Guess who gave Ole Miss their 1 tie that season?
They went 10-0 in 1962, but AP voters gave the title to undefeated USC.

it really is a pretty sleazy thing for Kiffen to do, but that's his entire resume, just be ready because it will happen here as well, eventually

Oddly specific analogy

any other blue blood
Per Grok, when asked which schools were considered the consensus 'blue bloods' of college football:
Here are the programs that are virtually universally considered "blue bloods" in college football—the elite historical powers with the most national titles, wins, weeks at #1, NFL talent produced, and cultural prestige.
As of December 2025, the consensus list is almost always these 8 teams (in rough order of historical dominance):
-Alabama – 18 claimed national titles (most in poll era), unmatched modern dominance under Saban/Kalen DeBoer continuation.
-Notre Dame – The most iconic brand in the sport, 11 consensus national titles, 7 Heismans, still independent.
-Ohio State – 8 consensus titles, 7 Heismans, massive resources, consistently in the top 5 all-time wins.
-Michigan – 9 consensus titles (plus 2023), just passed Notre Dame in all-time wins in 2024, huge national following.
-USC – 7 consensus titles (11 claimed), 7 Heismans, Hollywood glamour, ruled the 1960s–2000s West Coast era.
-Oklahoma – 7 consensus titles, 7 Heismans, 50-game win streak (all-time record), owned the Big 8/Big 12 for decades.
-Texas – 4 consensus titles (plus several claimed pre-poll), massive money & recruiting base, “The University of Texas” swagger, 2023–24 CFP runs have re-solidified them.
-Nebraska – 5 consensus titles, 3 Heismans, 1990s dynasty (3 titles in 4 years), still top 15 all-time wins despite the last 25 years.
Very close but usually just outside the universal top tier:
-LSU (4 titles, 2020s recruiting monster, but historically a tier below the above 8)
-Penn State (2 titles, huge tradition, but only two titles keeps them out of most “blue blood” lists)
-Georgia (now 3 titles in the modern era, Kirby Smart dynasty, but pre-1980 history is thin)
-Florida & Miami (dominant in spurts but not sustained enough all-time)
If someone says “name the blue bloods,” 95% of college football fans, analysts, and media (ESPN, CBS, The Athletic, 247, etc.) will immediately list some version of those top 8—Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska—with the order debated but the programs almost never in doubt.

LSU might not be an all time blue blood, but if you take the last 25 years they are.

There's really nothing in Texas's "historical resume" that trumps ours beyond their ability to just self declare 'We are Texas! Ergo we are a blue blood!'
