Mascona was talking about the contract having lots of performance based incentives to get more pay. I wonder if the 13 mil a year is guaranteed or if he has to earn it through contract incentives.

Most interesting clause in the article is that LSU will pay his postseason bonuses he would have been entitled to from Ole Miss if he coached through the playoff run. 150k for making the playoff, up to $1m for winning the championship.

I am having the same thought; however, I guess with a 7 year contract (as opposed to 10) it won’t be as crushing financially if we have to fire him after 4 years (and there is zero percent chance we fire Kiffin before 4 years without cause).

I really like the escalator for a national championship. Nice touch.

That’s kind of savage. If Ole Miss does well in the playoffs, they will be making the hated Kiffin more money.

This is going to be a shitshow for LSU but entertaining for the rest of the conference. You just have to wonder if. LSU is going to be the Tennessee or the Southern Cal in this situation.

You still employ Shane Beamer. Go take a nap.

And I know a bad coaching situation so maybe you should heed my warnings instead of being a petulant child.

I love how the rest of yall sec bitches want to come in here and pretend like Lane is going to be a disaster here. Y’all keep laughing. Because you won’t be before long. If he can average 10 wins with podunk Ole Miss (which no other coach in Ole Miss history could do) then imagine what he can do at LSU.

You are correct sir-

Lane will have a lot of double digit win seasons.

LSU will again win championships as it did before Kelly.
