The national media just can’t come to grips with the fact that LSU is a top 5 college football job that almost every college coach would die for. Joe Dean ain’t running the show anymore.

They don’t respond this way when USC pulls a coach from a perennial playoff team (4 team playoff at that). They didn’t cry when Deboer coached the national title game and then left for Bama the following week. But let LSU pull a coach from Notre Dame or Ole Miss (are y’all serious wirh this love of Ole Miss?) and the world is coming to an end.

Even Sark didn’t get dragged like this even though he left for USC the same day he said he wasn’t leaving Washington.

Yep, and if ole miss was 9-3, there wouldn’t be this vitriol. Do you want him coaching through the entirety and leave after?

The biggest joke is the “think of the kids” guys on social media. Kiffin was the portal king and that Ole Miss squad is all mercenaries. He’ll, half of them are probably coming here.

This is correct and also these aren't the "kids" like they used to be. The good ones are now being paid like professional athletes and with the portal it jus isn't the same as in the days when the "kids" committed to a program and a coach and played for the love of the game. For better or worse, it's becoming more about money now....

From all accounts, LSU is a very likable brand. Tommy Karam will die on the hill that LSU is the #1 college brand in the world, even overseas.

If that’s true, media talking heads are just jealous. No other logical reasoning

It's also because it involved 3 sec teams and a playoff spot for an 11-1 ole miss team.

I don't think it would've been as big if kiffin was leaving and 9-3 ole miss for lsu.

To me, it's like this.. He's our coach. It's alright for us to criticize him, but frick everyone else that does it. I don't care what national media says, I don't care what Ole Miss fans say(frick ole miss btw) He's the coach of LSU now. We ride.

The national sports media is like the news media. They are snobs whose objective is to be seen as "for the little guy" and more importantly, welcome at the wine and cheese parties with others who think just like them.

LSU, despite our success, popular brand, and numerous alums on their own networks, is NOT in their club. They see us as backwards rednecks and uneducated party animals.

We stole their beloved blue blood coach from Notre Dame and they mocked him immediately. Now, their righteous indignation at our taking a coach from Ole Miss? So disingenuous. They could care less about Ole Miss other than criticizing their mascot.

They don't like us and they resent it when we prosper. Good.

The “national media” doesn’t give two shits about anything but clicks and attention. You people thinking that they have some agenda against LSU is laughable and shows that you don’t understand how the media works.

I embrace being the villain team, makes victory taste even better. Also finally brings the LSU vs Ole Miss rivalry back to the glory days.

And as time passes people will care less and less as there will be other things the media tells people they need to be upset about.
