And respect for head coaches in college football is tied to the win loss record of the team being coached.

La Tech had Skip Holtz who had them going 8-4/9-3 just about every year. He had one down season and Tech decided they could do better. They have been paying for that decision ever since.

I’m hoping they will end up with Tim Rattay. Bad luck with the qb going down, I thought he was real good. They will be fine the next couple of years getting decent players since lsu is recruiting this year.

No, he regressed for a couple years. Bad result in hindsight obviously, but the product was declining.
