Plausible rumor from ole miss board

Kiffin wants to coach playoffs and championship game and then go to LSU. No news there. Someone is claiming, though, that Kiffin has gone on the offensive and may take certain staff members loyal to him with him if he is forced out early, leaving ole miss short handed on coaches for the playoffs.
Seems like a hardball stance, but, if true, gives Kiffin real leverage in his supposed desire to coach playoffs and go to LSU after. That sure would put Ole Miss AD between a rock and hard place. I am not sure how this would make ole miss players feel.

The hold up is the legality of contracts. It takes lawyers to draw them up. Read them. Agree. Sign.

Majority of the players are essentially paid mercenaries on year-to-year contracts now. They would probably prefer to have him coach through the end of their season. After the season they will be listening to offers themselves.

Coaches shouldn't be able to be signed until after championship game and signing day pushed back to Feb for kids not actually enrolling early.

I just don’t get how LSU could let him coach the playoffs, even if Verge said we would do it for the right candidate. I can’t imagine the donor base will truly be as patient
