How in the Sam Hill does that work? He would have to sign some sort of binding contract with us and there is just no way he could be under contract with us AND coach another team! What if he goes public with us, coaches ole miss and wins out, then decides he wants to stay at ole miss and we get left with jack friggin shite after all the other coaches are taken. We risk everything by agreeing to let him coach for another team

He absolutely could have an agreement with us that allows him to continue to coach OM … you can contract for that
Whether the parties are willing, TBD

LSU doesn’t want him coaching Ole Miss in the playoffs. But neither does Ole Miss if he is leaving. LSU and Ole Miss both don’t want to be the bad guy, and risk pissing Kiffin off. Both teams want him as their HC. Who jumps out of the way first?

I agree. It works for neither party.
If he agrees to coach us and then makes it to the semifinals he’s going to be able to use that to recruit at LSU. Why would Ole Miss want him to use their te success to recruit and build up their biggest rivalry (Miss state is a joke)

Exactly. This is fantasy world. No way LSU lets their coach continue to coach ole miss. These takes are retarded

There would obviously be ironclad paperwork’s signed that if he backs out then he owes a shitload of money to LSU or something to that nature.

I think if Ole Miss said enough is enough, the playoff committee would look on that as a daring move and seed them very well. Maybe a 5 seed.

Surely you don't think the Saints waited until after the Super Bowl to officially hire Kellen Moore, right?
Of course they had a deal in place.

General reasoning skills would indicate that he's committed to coach LSU, evidenced by the fact that he's not yet signed an extension. He knows the success he's having this year is lightning in a bottle and he doesn't want to let it go. Legally, he doesnt have to let it go if he doesn't want to do so. He can just delay notification to OM and continue coaching his team and his guys.

Lane is acting with some very low T energy right now

This issue, in my mind, is how does he get paid? He had to resign from OM in order to accept the LSU job. LSU isn't going to pay him to coach OM - potentially- in an SEC championship game or playoffs yet he's resigned from OM. Neither school should be on the hook IMO.

It's unfortunate because his strong desire to see it through is a good reason to want him. He's competitive. Making the playoffs when you're in the SEC isn't easy.
That said, if he stupidly decides to stay just because of this, he will regret it. OM has absolutely no chance of winning the natty, this year or ever, with or without Lane.

He agrees to coach LSU next year, LSU and Ole Miss allow him to coach out the rest of this year.
It’s not fricking hard and if so called adults would stop acting like spurned school girls, this is how it would happen.

Ole Miss will if he’s truly coming. They won’t have a choice.

It would be the reverse Eric

Ole Miss ad is proving he’s a ball-less cuck. If I were OM I’d want his arse fired. What a clown show.

Not true. It was reported a week ago that LSU was fine with him finishing out the season if he signs the contract. Ole miss is being sour grape douchebags and is attempting to block him
