My guess is that he is trying to wheedle his way into coaching the playoffs. Rather than just being a man smd deciding between the two paths.
But this is all pure guesswork.

I think at this point he’s trying to screw over LSU. He’ll probably try to extend this through signing day if LSU is going to wait around.
