I hope that LSU has a contingent offer already on the table to Dillingham. If/when Lane doesn’t make a decision or says he’s staying (which is going to happen), LSU can move quickly.

Also, if the offer is there and Lane doesn’t decide the weekend, I think LSU has to move on.

Contingent offer puts pressure on Lane too.

Contingent offer usually have an expiration and I don’t think this works like a house, to where you can tell all the other buyers you have an offer. So no, not really pressure on lane.

Also, I think Dillingham is legit parked at ASU….

If I am Dilly and you come to me and say, hey, if Lane turns us down, the job is yours and laid out an offer, I would tell you to go FO.

Probably because he is very good coach

Highly positive

Very likable

But his resume is nowhere near what Lane Kiffin’s résumé is so there is that

Because he's a really good, up and coming coach who has proven he can win and is a great QB developer. He would be a great hire for LSU.

He's going to turn it down so it won't matter

Making a contingent offer to someone is pretty offensive. Why would you do that, and what person in their right mind would agree to one?

Sure. A coach would love to hear "if my first choice passes, sign this so you are my #2.".

Even if you were offered a similar financial commitment as Kiffin and your salary was doubled?

Unless Arizona State were to offer close to the same financials/commitment as LSU, I can’t imagine him not considering based on being second choice.

If you come to me after Lane has made his decision, I'm fine. But if you come before and basically tell me to my face that I'm second place, I tell you to FO. If he said yes, he is definitely not the guy because he has a weak ego and is all about the money.

To hell with a contingent offer, it needs to be offered today and be done with Lane kiffin was never coming to LSU. I don't care what insider was on here. Anybody believe that s*** then I don't know what to say. Kiffing was never coming. He loves Ole Miss all this other bunch of crap about his son at u-high and all has been just what that is crap. Go get dealingham be done with this thing. We don't need to be looked like we're left at the altar again as we have done every single time. I mean just make the offer to dealing him and let's be done with it

He has won at a traditional middle of the road program that doesn't seem to have much support from the administration.

Being second choice isn’t the topic though. It’s receiving a contingent offer.
