If we can't get Kiffin, what do you think of these other options?

Are these the best remaining options?
Missouri’s Eli Drinkwitz (overall record: 57-29; win percent 66.3%)
Tulane’s Jon Sumrall (41-11; 78.8%)
Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham (22-15; 59.5%)
Georgia Tech’s Brent Key (27-18, 60%)
Who do you like among them?

Throw everything at Dilly, can get him for a fraction $ of LK. Heck at this point throw $20 million a year at Kirby and see if he bites.

Just signed an extension this morning....no

I think all three of these would do exceptionally well at LSU. Considering, we had spoken to Drink's agent (who is also the agent for Dilly and Sumrall) and we are in contact with Sexton (who is Key's agent), I suspect LSU has vetted these options.

I think Drink signed his extension Wednesday? So he’s thankfully off the table.
Either Sumrall or Dilly would be just fine with me. But who am I.

Ha..Sexton will just let Georgia pay that. He will never leave there unless they fire him.

Drink signed his extension, I believe. And he’s too comparably expensive given his qualifications.
Sumrall seems like a good fit but has limited HC experience compared to others.
Key made a pretty unambiguous statement that he isn’t leaving GT a couple of weeks ago.
That leaves: DILLY DILLY. Who I think is the best fall back option.

Wouldn't mind Sumrall. Maybe Dilly. But Sumrall would be my next choice. He's improved programs everywhere he's been. Whatever works out.

has Dilly ever coached in the sec. Kelly never did and look how that worked out. NBebetter off getting some no name coordinator and let him prove his self same as Dilly will have to but without the hugh buyout

Thought he was at Auburn

Agree, girl. But what Ole Miss and Florida fans don’t understand about LSU fans is this: We want Lane, yes very much so, but it’s not going to break our dear old Cajun hearts if we don’t. He’ll just be more Tiger bait.
You see, we have been to the mountain top as often as anyone not named Bama and know that there are several coaches out there that can do us a great job.
We’d love Kiffin but are not married to the dude. We’ve got babes lined up willing to land in BR.
And how do I know this? Quickly note that Sumrall, Dillingham, Fisch, Golesh, etc. have not signed with any teams, including their own schools’ extensions.
As long as Bama and Texas remain closed — we golden.

It's too late now. We gonna be stuck with Baker. Which may work out.

You could probably add Heupel to that list
Posted on 11/28/25 at 6:30 am to saintforlife1
Drink, Sumrall and Key are off the board, so Dilly would be the only one. Verge probably wants Wilson.

If Kiffin falls through then Dillingham and Sumrall have to be the next two choices.

They should have made him the interim then in my opinion if they were going to do that
I still think we have other options

Preparing for.huge drop off in expectations if we hire Tulane’s coach.
Posted on 11/28/25 at 7:39 am to saintforlife1
Rhett Lashlee would be my choice.

Look at the fricking coordinators. Keys OC would be a better hire than Key for example
