Good question - I'm guessing the lack of HC experience is working against him. The G5 HC proof of concept probably gives them the other candidates more traction. You can make the "next Dan Lanning" argument really easily with Schumann tho - maybe he's more primed for a 2027 move.
Feels like a guy people will regret passing on at some point.

The thought is/was Durkin is a legit candidate in these three games that he is the interim head coach. These games are a pseudo audition for him to obtain the permanent position. That was talked about more in the beginning right after Hugh was let go - not hearing as much about that scenario now.

Arkansas lost Franklin because they decided his request for more assistant pool money and NIL guarantees. They are a dumpster fire that makes Auburn look competent and well run.
