re: Is Arkansas the hottest school in the SEC right now?
Posted by Pig Lebowski on 4/19/24 at 1:42 pm
Ummm no. Most didn't even know who Muss was. As for Pittman, really just excited Morris got booted and had hope.
It's exciting now bc the AR billionaires are finally throwing their money and weight around. We'll see how it goes......

Where do some of you people come from?...
re: Arky, check bounce?
I concur. Arky donors won't like the idea of being leveraged for a better deal. Not a good way to start at the new place.
They're extremely stubborn about it... to a fault sometimes...
Imagine having the most generous contract in all of college basketball and asking for a counter offer (after a performance like that)
I think either the above didn't happen or Calipari knew he'd say no. Now he can say he tried and move on....
re: Is a Mulkey/Staley hire more impactful than an Oats/Cal hire?

No. That's it. No....

And we don't care. Win-win....
re: Arky thanks for buying our wet blanket

You're welcome. He also got a commitment of 5-6 mil for NIL. I think he's going to wreck it here imo....
re: Is Arkansas starting to realize they’re the SEC Nebraska

AR has an abundance of elite basketball talent...

That would be another dumb arse move considering the transfer portal closes May 1st....
re: Arky should hire Wade

He did it with Kiffin too. It's not a bad stance but he has to realize, this is a business and you have to follow the trends and give in a little. ...
re: Arky should hire Wade

Strangely his name seems to be fading out of serious discussions. Fans want him but now the ones in the know are saying Tang. I just don't understand our administration. Hopefully they're all wrong but it wouldn't be the first time Yurachek fricked up a negotiation and disappointed everyone.
Will ...
re: Hogs now ready to make Will Wade a "big arse offer", sources say
Posted by Pig Lebowski on 4/5/24 at 2:16 pm
What on Earth makes Tang worth the 7 to 8 mil to get him here? Go get Wade. Better coach and he'll be cheaper too....
re: Who will be Arkansas Bball coach next year?

re: Musselman is the 1st Arkansas coach to willingly leave for a step down
Posted by Pig Lebowski on 4/5/24 at 8:11 am
He went to 3 Sweet Sixteens and 2 Elite 8s in 5 years. I'd say that's pretty dang good for a program that was dead when he got there....
re: Musselman is the 1st Arkansas coach to willingly leave for a step down
Posted by Pig Lebowski on 4/5/24 at 8:06 am
Ehhh, it was his first bad year. He was always looking to get back to the West Coast. The season was very strange and makes me wonder if Muss and the players knew long before everyone else....
re: Musselman is the 1st Arkansas coach to willingly leave for a step down

Their basketball program is basically dead. The fan support and facilities are not even close to comparable. Much higher cost of living and I'm sorry but I don't think much of the whole state of California. I know Muss loves it there though so can't knock him for making the move....
re: Any chance Arky goes after McMahon?
Posted by Pig Lebowski on 4/5/24 at 7:59 am
Laughable.
By all accounts, it's Beard. And whoever doesn't retain or obtain Beard, they'll go after Wade....
re: Musselman is the 1st Arkansas coach to willingly leave for a step down

Their basketball program is not even close to AR's level. He left bc he's a West Coast guy and his mom lives there and isn't getting any younger. No biggie. I believe Yurachek will find a great replacement....
