So that means Trump can do a national TV speech telling people not to murder them and that's all good too, right?
Merely reminding people is okay, after all.
Merely reminding people is okay, after all.

Yes, but the implication from these people is that Trump is the threat and his orders should be ignored.

Shouldn't the question be about their intent? If there was no specific illegal order given to prompt these folks to "remind" service members to not obey illegal orders, the question is why issue the statement??
I'm spitballing here, but maybe the intent was:

AI Overview
In simple terms, sedition is speech or conduct that incites rebellion or violence against a government. It's about actions or words that encourage people to rebel against the government's authority, often through means other than lawful ones.
Incites rebellion: It encourages people to rise up against the government.
Undermines authority: It promotes contempt or disobedience towards the government's authority.
Uses unlawful means: It advocates for overturning the government or delaying its laws by force, rather than through the legal or constitutional process

They are and it was a trap set by the dems because they know this administration would jump on it to seem tough.
What they should have done is say
quote:
that's correct, you have an obligation to refuse follow unlawful orders, however be careful who you trust to inform you of which orders are unlawful because it will not be them going to Leavenworth, it will be you, that are lead astray by lies and misinformation.

but the historical documentary "A Few Good Men" showed up actual events when people follow unlawful orders

of course - just the same as the mobster-thug reminding a non-compliant merchant = "nice little shop you got here - would be a shame if it burned down tonight."

As much as I can't stand them, they are correct. They specifically said "illegal" orders. They didn't give any examples of any illegal orders, but they didn't do anything wrong either.

He can. Sure
He'll just look like an even bigger buffoon doing it though. It won't be illegal. It will just make him look like an emotional idiot

They said service members didn't have to follow unlawful orders, and then everyone freaks out saying they told them not to follow Trump's orders.
It's as if they're tacitly admitting that "unlawful orders" and "Trump's orders" are the same thing.

I believe they have seen too many narco boats being blown up and have seen their cocaine supply diminish. So they are trying to persuade the military that these are "illegal" orders that they don't and shouldn't follow.

This is exactly what they were implying.

what do these remarks from the 'seditious six' "look like" to you??
- serious warning about an existential problem??
- typical blather to generate favorable buzz from their media-partners?
- display of monumental ignorance of the real-world situation?
- demonstration of nothing of substance to offer, but need to do "something?"
I nominate any/all of the bottom 3

Anyone who thinks they had honorable intentions is full of shite. It was a cheap, divisive political stunt that will not foster bipartisanship and could be damaging to the chain of command.

So, Trump's good on his speech too then. I mean, he won't be saying anything wrong.
