Don’t throw in the towel quite yet. If Borrego can get this team bought in and we stay healthy (for the most part) we can make a push.

We are 3 games out from the 10-seed. Considering we don't have a first round pick, there's no reason to root against success moving forward. I'll take each win we get and hope that we see some improvement as the season goes on.

If we can stop going on long losing streaks and stay competitive the next month, we can at least be in the picture to make play-in. We'll eventually get D.Murray back as well as J.Poole pretty soon. If we can stay relatively healthy otherwise, we aren't a complete bum of a team.

This is about as optimistic as I can be, but I'm here for it.

They won't stay healthy, they never do. That's the Pelicans way.

I'm real curious if Fears continues starting once Poole is back now that Borrego is HC. Pretty obvious he wasn't happy with Willie's move. Not advocating one way or the other. Just wondering how it plays out.

They may turn it around, I hold out hope. But the 2021-22 Pelicans were led by someone who is no longer with the team and collectively got kicked to the curb here. ..... oh, ok I'll stop, I still get triggered from time to time

We are such a young team. Of the guys who played last night, our starters were age 26, 25, 25, 20, and 19. The four players off the bench were 27, 24, 23, and 21. The average NBA player peaks at age 27, when the ability to practice and continue to improve skills starts to be offset by a decline in athleticism (often accelerated by accumulated injuries). We aren't playing anyone on the wrong side of that line, and that's still true when we play Hawkins, Poole, and Karlo. So we should get better throughout the season while older teams decline.. That's especially true for a team starting two rookies.

Then, you factor in that we get Dejounte back at some point, and that the team is still learning Borrego's offense, and there are definitely reasons to hope.

I would say that Poole's reputation was that of an elite shooter, but his 3-pt% is actually only at 34% so far this season. Fears only shot 28% from 3 at Oklahoma, and his shooting was the big concern with him, but he's shooting 37% so far. I know that there's still a significant difference in volume, but I would want to see Poole begin to hit at a higher rate before prioritizing him over Fears.

The other consideration, though, is that I want to match Poole's minutes with Zion's. With Fears's ability to break down a defense and get to the rim, I want him on the floor whenever Zion is off, so that we keep defenses focused on rim protection.

Just my 2 cents.

All I know is Hawk did not play and they won. I think that is something they should explore

I prefer Bey and Poole over CJ. We wouldn’t have won that game yesterday if Bey didn’t go off.

It's crazy that bey has been more impactful than poole.
