"As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."

One of the greatest lines in TV history.

Great supporting work from Les Nessman, five-time winner of the Buckeye NewsHawk Award.

Domestic turkeys have been genetically engineered to the point they can't sustain flight due to their large size and weight. The breasts on domestic turkeys can't sustain the movement needed for them to properly fly due to their depth and length.

Wild turkeys do fly, commercial (grocery store) turkeys do not fly.

Intelligence has actually been genetically engineered out of them as well, they will drown in a thunderstorm if left to their own devices.

Which is incredibly ironic, because if you’ve ever been in the field trying to hunt their forebears, they’re some of the smartest creatures you’ll ever run across.

But, a lot of turkeys don't make it through Thanksgiving.

I’m guessing this is one of those ‘had to be there’ types of thing

This clip is posted every year. I always watch it. And I still don’t find it more than slightly humorous

The first time I saw it as a kid, I was picturing frozen turkeys from the grocery store smashing into windshields and stuff.

The intent became more graphic and clear upon later rewatches.

WKRP to me was Cheers before Cheers. Could never get into it, but I don't hate those that liked it. Same for MASH, couldn't get thru a single episode. I will say that they were a thousand times better than that Big Bang Theory garbage. How anyone found that a bit entertaining

All in the Family, Sanford & Son, and The Jeffersons were more to my liking.

The greatness and uniqueness of MASH was that it blended extreme comedy and the harsh reality of war. As I got older I picked up on the political aspects of the show.
