The American Healthcare System Is The Biggest Pile Of shite Ever Invented

Between my employer and I we pay $1,500.00 a month for employee +1 kid.
Kid goes to dermatologist, co pay $65.00.
Dermatologist writes prescription "that the kid needs to start immediately", last Wednesday.
Pharmacy - The Rx is $245.00 but if we get prior authorization it's $35.00, OK get prior authorization.
Seven days later and 14 phone calls "still pending approval" .

If you have a big medical bill, just pay them like $25 a month. They will threaten and pitch a fit but if you are making some kind of payment they never do shite
I have a friend that had a surgery almost a decade ago and after insurance “pitching in” he owed $40,000.
He has paid $50 a month for almost a decade and even though they call and threaten him every other month, nothing has ever happened

Drug plans are a major scam with all companies posting identical +$100 increases for 2026. They are also decreasing the number of drugs covered in their plans.

It's a game and the big companies laugh their way to the bank. Why are health insurance companies often limited geographically? Why are drug manufacturers allowed to openly market their shite directly to consumers? Why do pharmaceuticals charge so much in the U.S. while charging so little in Europe and other areas? Why do people with private health insurance get charged so much for the same items and procedures that are billed much cheaper if you have Obamacare? Why did the pharmaceutical companies back Obamacare? Because they agreed to support it in return for no pressure or negotiations to reduce costs for people on Medicare.

A big part of it is simple:
Price capping by socialized medicine programs around the world places the burden of paying for medical technology on the American public.
We are living through a golden age of medical discovery but the vast majority of the costs for that advancement is paid for by Americans. Our at least somewhat market-based system is subsidizing the rest of the world.
The answer is for the rest of the world to pay up.
