Total D: 23rd
Pass D: 30th
Rush D: 31st
3rd D: 28th
Score D: 16th <<<
Redzone: 4th <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Turnovers: T-27th
Sacks: 32nd
TFL's: T-88th
INT's: 10th

These would be excellent defensive numbers in any year, but especially so this year considering how often the defense is being thrown out there in a poor position after the offense shits the bed.

The fact that some of the folks on this message board - almost exclusively the same chorus imbeciles week in, week out on the Score Board - want this guy gone is proof there is lead paint still in some of your houses. Go get that shite tested.

I think Baker does well with what he has. Our front 7 is much less talented than we hoped for if we’re being honest.

The defense has not been the problem....outside of an inconsistent pass rush and not being able to stop the QB run.

He’s a good coordinator and deserves more time but with the new HC you never know

Yea were not quite there yet upfront. 26 class should help us get there tho if we can hold onto it

#40 being out for some of the most important games of the season hurt a lot. As well, the 3 and out no redzone offense didn’t help Baker.

Yup. Whit missing vandy, atm, and bama sucked. And then his bro personal foul sprung ole miss to first meaningful points in the game. Baker has done well with alot of new faces

I agree with this. DE's had zero pass rush all year. Otherwise, the entire Dline was pretty good against the run as a whole. LBs were okay overall.

Best DB group we've had in quite some time and goes to show how much they can carry a defense when they are strong from top to bottom.

Hopefully we can land some elite DEs in this portal and a couple DBs.

Reliford could not be replaced.

Chambliss and Reed would still be running if the clock hadn’t hit zeroes.

We can't score points in an offensive era of the game and the O is too inconsistent.

D was good enough to make the playoffs.

I’m good with baker staying. Think if he saw a mobile QB in practice daily would help him game plan and figure a way to stop it.

But also feel like a new head coach, kiffin or whoever, should be able to decide who he has at DC.

Payton was a huge bust in many ways and Reliford killed us. Gooden is quick as a cat, but he shoots upfield and creates massive holes that only elite LBers can fill. Without Whit, West and Keys are very average. Secondary has been amazing.

Obviously every team will take a step back against better competition, but against LT and SLU and WKU we truly destroyed them so skews the numbers. Offense also couldn’t score so we didn’t get to pull starters like normal. Vandy/OM/TAMU did whatever they wanted whenever they wanted.

I still like Baker overall but in bigger games still seems like he doesn’t quite know when to play soft zone or blitz heavy often times

The year to year improvement in red zone defense may be the largest jump ever. Amazing what you can do when you have DBs who can cover.

Kyle Williams is doing the job, IMO.

I don't think he was going to improve our pass rush more so than Payton/Pyburn, but that's no knock on Reliford. He's a helluva DE and it was a shame to lose him.

We need an Arden Key/Mingo/Chaisson type disrupter. Easier said than done to get one on our team, but we can certainly try and buy one this offseason.

These numbers would be better if we had an offense

I like Blake. He’s a very good coach. If he stays that’s great, but if the new coach doesn’t retain him that’s the nature of the business. I think Lane will likely want to keep him.
