Kiffin dragging this out is what I was worried about…

I got slammed a few days ago for mentioning (and spelling his name wrong) that LSU better have its ducks in a row because Lane will, without a doubt, drag this on as long as he can just to hurt LSU. Every day this drags out it puts LSU, its players, and its recruits standing there with doubt.
He’s still Ole Miss’s coach. Don’t forget that. That school would love nothing more than to destroy the soul of LSU.
I want Kiffin as HC AS much as anybody, but I don’t trust Ole Miss or Sexton…and this situation stinks like straight SH!t.

Waiting until (or attempting to wait until) the end of his current team’s regular season isn’t “dragging this out”. That has always been the anticipated timeline by potential suitors (I.e. LSU). The only reason things have been hairy is because Ole Miss is frustrated that he hasn’t signed his extension. So they are nervous, rightly so, and have been pressing the issue. We have known all along what Kiffins desired timeline was.

You are using a false timeline made up by fans/media.
The regular season isn’t over. There are contract implications.
Fla hasn’t hired anyone yet. Va Tech hired a fired coach. Most teams are still waiting this out as well.

The Ole Miss extension is already on his desk.
If he's coming to LSU then he's daring Ole Miss to fire him to save himself (and Sexton) money, but he can't breach his contract in doing so. If he's not coming to LSU, he's hoping to leverage a better offer from Ole Miss.
This doesn't mean he's coming or not coming, just that his actions aren't really any kind of indicator one way or the other.
