He got ragged pretty hard these last 3 weeks, and assuming that things go smoothly in the next several days, it could be argued that he may deserve both praise and apologies from many.

I will say that LSU radio and podcast hosts in particular should attempt to make amends for some of the things they said, as they clearly helped shape a narrative that MANY in the national media were happy to work with to the attempted detriment of our HC search.

Lane appears to be cool with the Guv as pointed out in another thread.

No. To give Landdy credit for LSU hiring Lane is ludicrous.

Agree to an extent. But... a lot of influential LSU media folks said that he had singlehandedly tanked our chances of landing Lane Kiffen and publicized the story in that fashion for days.

I then heard at least 7 or 8 national media folks in the following two weeks laugh and make snarky comments about it. They then used that talking point ad nauseum as to why CLK would never pick LSU - because of the "meddling LA Governor".

My two pesos:
1) Few take issue with what he did in helping dispatch Brian and Scott. Both needed a good firing. But he shouldn't have been seen or heard in it. Just stay out of the limelight.
2) LA needs to learn this simple lesson: if you cannot primary Landry out, then he is far better than electing a dem. Wise up, hold your nose, and don't make bad, worse.

No, Landry is still a piece of shite that's going to cost the taxpayer millions of dollars more than any LSU coach ever will with the illegal laws he signs.

You think after that disaster tonight that he wants to start over and take on a total rebuild? That was like the worst days of Curley on display. Even if he was going to take the job, I would guess tonight made him think again.

Isn’t he the one who said LSU will not be paying a ridiculous long term contract to the next coach ?

Yes.
Lane was hesitant and expressed his concern over Tiger's NIL commitment.
Gov. Landry called Lane and promised he would propose a sports tax on alcohol sales to meet NIL needs.
Lane was convinced.
Deal was closed.
Tiger Nation owe Gov. Landry a big thank you!
