They are fun to watch

High scoring
Good shooters
Pretty deep off the bench
NWOKO

Anyway, back to the coaching changes board

They seem to be a nice squad to date and doing what they should to less talented and not as deeper teams

PG
15 pts
10 assists
0 TO

That’s a nice line I don’t care who you are playing.

Man you are so right. Playing the bottom 100 in the Ncaa makes them look good.

I guess you prefer we lose to those kinds of teams...

Unfortunately I’ve watched a lot of LSU basketball the past few years.

This team would beat any of these prior McMahon teams handily. The talent is much better. Interested to see where it ends up. May crash and burn but might not at all

I celebrate all wins. This game was very entertaining with some wild plays, great shooting and Thomas and Nwoko putting on their usual dominance. Can they do that agains't the top 20 teams in the country? Probably not but it will be fun to see them try.

I think the offense has some potential, Dedan has been impressive.

They are about to step up a little bit in competition a litte before Texas tech.

Intriguing next week for the basketball team.

Cf. Nicholls 2023.

And I called this most recent baseball season "a lost cause" when we lost that early OOC game to OMAHA!

I would be happy if we went unbeaten in OOC play and then won a half dozen SEC games. That's what Oklahoma did last year and they made the tournament

I doubt LSUMBB will go unbeaten in OOC play. Playing Texas Tech in Fort Worth probably makes going undefeated unlikely. Winning at Boston College might be a problem too much less neutral site games in Niceville, FL and in New Orleans. 11-2 might be tops for us with this team. Just do not lose to a bad team.

I like the high scoring and good fg % and increased 3 pt % and turnovers have been lower than in past. Keep that up and will be in many more games than in past against quality competition

So I’ve watched Texas tech a few times this year. And right now I’m currently watching watching Purdue blow the doors off of them. That being said, I really believe we have a chance to beat those guys, they are not your usual Texas tech team, so it appears. Even if we don’t win, I fully expect us to be able to play with them and be in the game the whole time. We are all kinda expecting them to win, but if they play the way they played tonight we can upset them.

minor concerns: defense vs fast guards, lack of development from reed he is still not a confident finisher (but man nwoko is). lack of aggression from Miller. slow release shots from McKinnon seem easy to block when defenders are quick.

Carter can really shoot the rock

This is the most talented team under MM.

We have multiple guards that can shoot finally.

We have some depth.

I see a few potential defensive issues that may rear their head when we start playing good teams.

I’m cautiously optimistic.

caught them in person tonight... my thoughts

1) body language was great - they seem to be on the same page
2) a lot of guys can contribute
3) I worry about their man to man defense against better competition. couple of players seem a step slow
4) PG can play

doubt they finish 15th in the league again.. probably move up a couple of spots this year
