The long and short of meeting today

Update:
Meeting was supposed to be 1 hour, lasted 3. Ole miss is in a tough spot. They fire him now - not only is it a distraction but they owe him the buyout of 30mil. He wanted to coach Egg Bowl so that was his bargain to sign after instead of being fired. Met with players a little bit ago. The outcome will still be Egg Bowl —> BR

They don’t have to fire him. Just tell him he’s not coaching going forward and wait for him to accept his job offer.
Kelly wasn’t fired by LSU for the Arkansas game. He just didn’t coach.

Like I said in another post. I talked to a OM player that said Pete Goiding met with the defense because of all of the transfer portal talk and told them he would be there no matter what Lane’s decision was. This player wasn’t there because he was with other players headed to Stuttgart to goose hunt.

That's a whole week away. Things can change on a dime in Coaching searches. I'm sure it will be the same roller coaster next week. One day, Florida is a done deal, the next day Ole Miss, then LSU.

I’m hearing it’s as done as can be. Only sticking point is he wants it in the contract that the band will play neck at least once per sec game. Should be wrapped up soon.

Not sure what Pete is assuming or meant. Maybe he was talking about he was talking about remaining the DC no matter who they hired to replace Kiffin. I didn’t want to bug the kid and ask details, I just ask him every couple of days if he’s heard anything or not.

Yes that kid. He is still part of the team and has friends that were at he meeting.
The point to let you know he and other players are gone goose hunting is to let you know the whole team isn’t in Oxford so there isn’t a any full team meeting that Kiffin could even have if he wanted to.
