What decision has to be made about the future of your current coach?

Not necessarily. I mean he can still pull an Elko and sign the extension. Which I think is highly likely

Seems like that is the common thought from every party.

It's probably a matter of coaching the CFP game or not.

Why? Why has he not already signed?

It’s the right move if you want to try to keep him. Keep him around another week, pray for a change of heart.

It’s a long shot, but it’s a better chance than saying get out now.

Don't they have weird rules where contracts have to be approved by the state?

I lean more to kiffin making an epic wolf of Wall Street moment

I can’t in my wildest imagination picture an AD allowing a coach leaving for a rival to stay around.

The AD said nothing shout a decision, that was all Dellenger. He said they want to focus on the Egg Bowl and will make an announcement after that. Gone pecan

Yep. I said earlier this week he feels like he owes it to his players to make sure they are in the best position this year. They will be signing an agreement to allow him to coach through Friday of next week, he will cease all independent contact with recruits. This will allow him to sign the agreement with LSU. A lot of moving parts here, but yes, 100% he is coming to LSU guys. Money is secured and agreed to, he wants to make sure his players are in the best position for the playoffs. This is the best version of Kiffin you'll ever get.

Home run guys, he's just running the bases now.

I'll be honest I kinda can't believe they're doing this. If I had a meeting between the AD, chancellor, and HC and the coach still couldn't tell me at this juncture after all this drama about his family flying around and publicly touring homes in other cities, that he's committed to the future with our program, I would just let Joe Judge coach against his alma mater and get a week of prep in to get his bearings for a potential playoff run. Have some self respect man

Not to mention it was a Friday news dump. In the PR world that’s what you do to ease the backlash and get out in front of something negative.

I was thinking that after I read what he says. The decision has already been made, they are just trying to keep the focus on the game. It is a reasonable move to make because the AD has to represent the university as the priority

Everyone at Ole Miss would be sprinting to a microphone to announce this.

Correct. An announcement sounds like a decision has already been made. And if he hasn’t signed an extension then hopefully that means he is leaving. And hopefully it’s to LSU.

That’s you, but I can see how the are desperate and thinking they need him this week to try and make the playoffs.
