If he’s staying at OM, you just announce it. Even if details aren’t final.

Nobody in Oxford or at Ole Miss has any leverage. They have no option but to give into his $$/NIL demands and his agent would love an announcement about his client on national television. This is all a set up

And they would throw a goddamn parade for him if the day after clinching a CFP spot he laughs at two SEC rivals by announcing he's staying at Ole Miss.

Nah they would throw it for the team certainly, but not lane. I think lane has seriously damaged his reputation with this, even if he stays. Now everyone knows all the BS he’s been feeding about being different was just all to try to create an image to make him more attractive for future jobs.

This is what I'm thinking too. Because if he's staying, you release the statement that he's staying and the details of the extension will be released later. Doing this tells me either:
1) They're giving him a week to see if maybe he will change his mind, and use their time to present a better option for him
2) He's leaving, but wants to finish the season.
Both would allow them to do their due diligence to find a replacement if he chooses to leave. Just curious if LSU told him that they're willing to wait. We honestly don't know what the LSU side is saying because they've been pretty quiet on this.
