Everything I’ve heard from secondary sources in BR and Nola are that it’s basically a done deal. What scares the shite out of me is what happens over the next week.

Imagine the Egg Bowl is close. Ole Miss sneaks out a win in a crazy game. They cap off a historic season (for them). It’s emotional, Kiffin is carried off the field by his players. You might think this sounds gay as hell but think of a Les Miles against A&M 2016 type scenario. He’s almost assuredly going to be fired. Our knee-jerk AD at the time is moved by emotion and the team rallying behind him that he doesn’t fire him and is forced to do it after Les ruined the 2017 season.

We are close, but this isn’t a done deal until it’s signed. Working in M&A I’ve seen so many deals fall apart the days before signing. What do we want to happen here in the Egg Bowl?

Seems very low at this point. If he was signing an extension he would have done so by now and it would be announced. Writing is on the wall.
