The unemployment rate, which is based on a separate survey from the jobs figures, rose slightly to 4.4%, reaching the highest level in four years as nearly half a million people joined the labor force. Economists expected the unemployment rate to hold at 4.3%.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced record-breaking statistics with more than 527,000 illegal aliens removed under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. "The Trump Administration is on pace to shatter historic records and deport nearly 600,000 illegal aliens by the end of President Donald Trump’s first year since returning to office. More than 2 million illegal aliens have left the U.S. including 1.6 million who have voluntarily self-deported and over 527,000 deportations,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
Don’t look now but it looks like the people who were saying that illegal immigration was driving Americans out of the labor force might be correct.

Almost as if the billionaire businessman understands economics.

So the 500K people that weren't in the labor force previously were just sitting it out because of illegals? You really believe that?

Job growth would disagree with that statement

They were sitting out of the labor force because the jobs that they could have been hired for were being filled by illegal migrants.

Trump: MUH MOAR LEGAL IMMIGRANTS BECAUSE AMERICANS ARS DUMB

You actually think Americans aren't playing hell finding a job in many sectors right now because they'd have to have fair wages and because said illegals and H1Bs are racists and nepotists? And that the government is not the point source problem who facilitated it all for the hope of future votes and cheap, foreign labor and dependents on the state?

Powerman
You're the champions of exploitation and the first of friends with corporate conglomerate monopolies. Pathetic.

I posted this on another thread:
September YOY numbers:
Foreign born employment (700K)
American born employment + 2,468K
Wage growth outstripping inflation every month this year and +4.3%
The overall job numbers look a little soft when you combine the aforementioned. So why on earth would wages be rising???
Perhaps because legal Americans are replacing illegals. You will remember that the biden admin conveniently gave illegals SS# so they show up in employment data.
I also noticed that the participation rate of Americans remained the same even with the additional employment due to the fact we "found" about 3million Americans in the past year. It couldnt be that last year's number was underreported to improve unemployment numbers could it? Nah say it isnt so.
Trump has somehow managed to grow the economy 4.2%, lower inflation, and make great gains in American employment. Foreign investment is also at a three year high and growing, this country is growing and about to rocket.

Youve never had a job before, have you?
"Hey guys, looks like we now have approval to hire more people, and that should lessen your workload"
Rosarita: "Can I tell my cousins Lupita and Hector to come apply?"
"Sure, if they are willing to work as hard as you. The more the merrier"
"Pardon Sir, I am leaving to work for Google. So sorry, but I have friends back in the old country that would be great to fill any slots that might open. Would you be sponsoring H-1B?"
"Hey, this is Bob from Catholic Charities, do you have any jobs that we can slip people into, prior to postings? We are already sponsoring them in the country, so the paperwork would be quite easy"
A lot of those jobs. never make postings

Or, OR, those people would never be hired because they are more expensive than those illegals.

Democrats are the party of slave owners. Once a slave owner, always a slave owner

How else do you expect them to increase the popularity of socialism? Socialism has never been implemented by the working class before. It has always been implemented by the intelligentsia. These intelligentsia were usually the children of the middle class and not the members of the middle class who actually earned or built anything.

Will existing employees benefit?
As recent immigrants become less able to work, whether due to loss of work permits or fear of deportation, Texas firms are taking measures to address the impact. Chief among them is increasing work hours for existing employees (Chart 4). Other responses are planned wage and benefit increases and more hiring of U.S.-born workers, naturalized citizens or legal permanent residents.
A long article about Tx. job market but a snippet that supports the idea that wages are rising in some industries due to immigration crackdown.

And there it is.
You simply do not see 4.3% wage growth in a soft labor market, unless other factors are in play and there really IS NOT a soft labor market.
