Lane Kiffin will be the next coach at LSU and here is why

Lane knows exactly what his ceiling is at Ole Miss. He can stay there and win 10–11 games a year, maybe sneak into the playoff every now and then, but he’ll never consistently win the big one. And Kiffin isn’t chasing comfort; he’s chasing legacy. To cement his place in college football history, he has to take over a true blue-blood program. LSU is that program.

At LSU, he becomes the head coach of the flagship school of the state, where he can cherry-pick elite talent every single year right out of his own backyard. This isn’t like Florida, where you’re fighting Florida State, Miami, UCF, and USF for every recruit. At LSU, the path to a national title runs straight through your own pipeline.

Because of that, staying at Ole Miss simply isn’t a real option when LSU is sitting in his lap. This will get done. It is going to happen. The only question is the timing.

My personal belief is that LSU would let him finish out the playoff run, but Ole Miss won’t. That’s the hold-up. There’s timing to navigate, optics to manage, and money being moved behind closed doors.

And based on the little bit of insider info I do have: if Saban doesn’t happen, LSU is throwing the entire book at Kiffin. They want him, and he knows this is the move that can define his legacy.

To further that point, Louisiana for the next 3 years is absolutely STACKED with talent. There’s always a ton of talent in the state, but the 26-28 classes are stupid, even by our standards. If he does come to LSU, you can all but guarantee LSU gets Haven.

I, for one, appreciate this fresh perspective being contributed to the board.

Lsu has averaged 1 championship every 6 years since 2000. Hardly a blue blood. He will bolt for another job before winning one in BR. Mark my words. LK chases money, not opportunity. Always has, always will. Everything and everyone has a price.

It is shocking how the portal has pushed recruiting to the back burner for the average fan. The consistently elite teams will, on average, build thru recruiting and fill gaps with quality not quantity thru the portal.

LSU in the last 25 years is the only other school other than Alabama and Ohio state to win 3+ national Championships definitely a blue blood.
Alabama-6 09,11,12,15,17,20
Ohio State- 02,15,25
LSU- 03, 07, 19
Clemson-16,18
Florida- 06,08

Your little bit of insider info is old news.
Saban turned it down cold, but has given some advice/info directly to Kiffin and also through Sexton. They talk regularly during the week.

Smart guy, what is the record of LSU besides winning those NC? Orlando, Tampa , and Houston have an open hotel room reservation. More meaningless bowl games than anything
