LSU in the last 25 years is the only other school other than Alabama and Ohio state to win 3+ national Championships definitely a blue blood.
Alabama-6 09,11,12,15,17,20
Ohio State- 02,15,25
LSU- 03, 07, 19
Clemson-16,18
Florida- 06,08

It’s Kiffin and always has been Kiffin

Lane Kiffin will be the next coach at LSU and here is why
Lane knows exactly what his ceiling is at Ole Miss. He can stay there and win 10–11 games a year, maybe sneak into the playoff every now and then, but he’ll never consistently win the big one. And Kiffin isn’t chasing comfort; he’s chasing legacy. To cement his place in college football history, he has to take over a true blue-blood program. LSU is that program.
At LSU, he becomes the head coach of the flagship school of the state, where he can cherry-pick elite talent every single year right out of his own backyard. This isn’t like Florida, where you’re fighting Florida State, Miami, UCF, and USF for every recruit. At LSU, the path to a national title runs straight through your own pipeline.
Because of that, staying at Ole Miss simply isn’t a real option when LSU is sitting in his lap. This will get done. It is going to happen. The only question is the timing.
My personal belief is that LSU would let him finish out the playoff run, but Ole Miss won’t. That’s the hold-up. There’s timing to navigate, optics to manage, and money being moved behind closed doors.
And based on the little bit of insider info I do have: if Saban doesn’t happen, LSU is throwing the entire book at Kiffin. They want him, and he knows this is the move that can define his legacy.

Post the “I was wrong” post after they announce Kiffin in the next 48 hours

Agree
It’s still Monday, and this is all I can say right now. Saban is the guy if we can get him, and with the info I have at the moment, I still believe we’re going to make it happen. Kiffin is the #1 target if not, and boosters like Gordon have already publicly made that clear. The Saban situation is very, very tight-lipped right now until the ink is on the contract. I do have a very credible source saying we’ve made an offer to Saban, and he’s very interested.
LSU is not ruined

People saying LSU’s image is “ruined” are insane. This program has top talent year in and year out right in its backyard, and it’s one of only three schools along with Alabama and Ohio State to win 3+ national championships in the last 25 years. Say what you want, but LSU is absolutely loaded financially and has the backing and support to get the job done.
Brian Kelly was just a bad hire, plain and simple. He was mediocre at Notre Dame, and that same mediocrity showed at LSU, and that doesn’t cut it here. LSU is one of the premier jobs in all of college football, maybe second only to Texas. The right guy will come in and succeed greatly.
Nick Saban only left because of the NFL, and he’d probably still be here otherwise. Les Miles had a great run for over a decade before his time was up. Ed Orgeron got a tough break with COVID, opt-outs, and some off-field issues. Kelly was just the wrong fit.
We’ll be fine. LSU will get its guy, maybe Saban, maybe Kiffin, and when that happens, we’ll be right back to being a championship program.

That’s why we need OU to win out
They’d be 4th in this scenario Texas losses again with a loss to Florida Oklahoma losses their third would be A&M, Ole Miss, Vandy, Texas, LSU but with the UF loss committee would put us in over Texas
Path to the playoffs

Things that need to happen
1. LSU win out
2. OU wins out to set up a top 10 win for LSU
3. ND loses one more
4. Ole miss, Vandy, A&M win out making our 3 losses to playoff teams and potentially one is an SEC champ
If all of this happens the tigers are in a position to be in the conversation of possibly getting in with 3 loses if the committee sticks to their new format of SOC

The deal is done

Verge was hand picked by saban and was apart of the agreement. Word is saban has signed the contract but wants to wait until after the Alabama-LSU game to announce. This was more about putting people in place to stay out of saban’s way than anything else and now that those people are in place saban is ready to go. Expect to hear an official announcement some time Sunday or Monday.
We’re beating Bama
Posted by Bradyn_20 on 11/1/25 at 10:57 pm
LSU will beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa and here’s why.
1. The boys will play their hearts out for frank wilson.
2. Bama can’t prepare for what they don’t know. A whole new scheme and I imagine playbook will be implemented with new offensive staff and bama won’t be able to prepare for that.
3. Kelly and Sloan were really really bad and held this team back and we’re all about to be really upset when we go 9-3 and fall a ranking short of the playoff.
LSU-34 Bama-20
