According to a friend within the Ole Miss HR department, the university has begun routine, preliminary off-boarding readiness tasks that are triggered during potential leadership transitions. Was told this is standard practice when a high-profile employee may be departing. The process includes reviewing contract language and termination procedures, preparing documentation related to equipment return, verifying compliance-related obligations, and assessing transition protocols for football staff.

This activity does not indicate a decision involving LSU or Florida. It simply reflects that the standard contingency workflow is being put into place today.

Ole Miss isn’t going to frick around. IF Kiffin leaves they are going to move very quickly to fill the position.

Sumrall would be announced within 48 hours after it’s announced Kiffin is leaving.

If I was Ole Miss I would already be doing an interview with Sumrall in case to try to beat Auburn to the punch.

They already have been since last week supposedly. Carter did the exact same thing with Dan McDonnell when it looked like LSU was hiring Bianco away. They had an agreement and everything in place ready to announce the next day after Bianco had left.

But then you assholes got cold feet in the 11th hour

We have already been speaking with Sumrall, but are also looking at sitting P4 coaches. I have no idea who that would be.

Professional organizations do this stuff to be ready for any contingency… so this isn’t the end all be all.

But it’s definitely a development

If Kiffin gets hired, you will be the biggest meltdown I will be watching on here.

You invested WAY more energy pooh poohing the hire than any OM fan.

there were no cold feet. he was given a courtesy interview due to pressure from former players who played under him/with him at LSU. i don't think he was ever seriously considered for the job. LSU interviewed multiple people in that search.
