Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green became the latest NBA player – active or retired – to speculate, however subtly, that the New Orleans Pelicans should be relocated."Quieting the home crowd is always fun," Green said after the Warriors' 124-106 win over the Pelicans on Sunday evening. "This crowd wasn't too loud to begin with, so yeah."

Green was then asked when he last remembered the Warriors playing in a half-empty arena with superstar teammate Stephen Curry on the court.
quote:

"Yeah [laughs] you know, the Steph Curry show," Green said. "It usually travels on the road, but hey, this place is. Whew, it's tough in here. [Starts smiling] tough. Very tough in here. Might want to take a look!"
Green reiterated his point when asked if playing in an empty arena impacts the team's play.

"It definitely impacts it," Green said. "You know, you want to go in full arenas. [Smiles again] it also helps the entire league out, so [the league] might want to take a look! It's interesting. Might need to take a look."
quote:

Green's comments came days after Demarcus Cousins said he thinks the Pelicans should relocate.
"I think it was time five or six years ago, especially for New Orleans," Cousins said on the "Road Trippin" podcast. "I mean, you go to the games, it's about 36 people there. Courtside's $25. It's not really much going. There's not much success happening for just that part of it. There hasn't been any success. There just hasn't. It's time."
quote:

Kendrick Perkins, who also played for the Pelicans, was also asked about the potential of the New Orleans franchise being located.
"I played in New Orleans," Perkins said. "Here's the problem with New Orleans. I understand where Demarcus is coming from, where Big Cuz is coming from, because he played there. They are always going to be second to the New Orleans Saints. That city is all about the New Orleans Saints. They don't give a d--- about the Pelicans. You have to f----- win in order to fill seats up." I think this is really gaining momentum, it’s a shame because if we could have put a decent team fans would support them. Thanks Zion and management

All wanna be thug dudes with under 65 IQ's, all reach the same conclusion with a dishonest thought process. Not surprised.

Its true that they will play second fiddle, but when they were winning and playing exciting ball, the city was 100% behind them.

Put a better product out there and it starts with better leadership.

Griffin should have traded Zion. He shouldn't have traded Dyson.

They play in the NBA so it’s hardly dishonest thought rather experience and comparison to come to their accurate conclusion.

The atmosphere is shite, the city is shite, and the team will soon move as this model is not sustainable.

Denial and assigning IQ levels to players because they share an opinion most of the NBA and its followers agree isn’t going to save the Pels.

I used to counter these arguments, but Gayle has so thoroughly destroyed this franchise that I have complete apathy regarding what happens.

Here is one example of a dishonest thought. There are many more. But here is 1. Demarcus Cousins claimed that courtside seats were empty and on sale for $25 when he was here. This is a direct quote from him.

Sorry you had to come to this place, but if you reflect the signs were there with her interior decorating business, Dixie, and inability to keep the best asset (Sean Payton) in team history.

Same story with the Pels with CP3 and AD.

At least Pelicans are indigenous to Seattle so some of our history can remain like with the Jazz. I’ll still be a fan.

It’s not the location, it’s the ownership. Take this franchise with the current owner and move it to a big city and they still fricking suck. SA, OKC,etc are small markets but good organizations and build winners which put butts in the seats.

If Seattle ever puts together an ownership group, the Pels are by far the likeliest contender. This season was fairly crucial to not completely suck total arse.

You literally have no idea what you are talking about. The team has never lost money. There is nothing forcing a sale or a move. She makes money every year. There is no make or break. They are going to renovate the SK Center and life will go on.

If people hate this group or structure, there is little to nothing you can do to change it. The business model is built not to fail. They can be successful, on the court, by happenstance. It happens all the time..
