I almost wish we would lose out for a good draft spot

I know this isn’t necessarily a good mindset to get in the habit of, but what difference does it make if we win 2 or 4 games.

Lose the rest get a good draft spot and focus on the rebuild

If you have a good young quarterback then it's not worth losing your arse off if you don't have to. If a good young quarterback plays you out of a top pick then embrace it.

I don’t necessarily think Shough or Rattler are amazing. But point understood.

I feel like having a 1st pick is great regardless of the need for a QB. Get the best skill position possible.

Especially considering Kamara is getting older and we just shipped off Shaheed. Imagine getting our QBs a Bijan or Jamaar to work with while still having capital to spend on depth/other pieces.

I’m not a coach or a GM though, so I’ll defer to them I guess

Agreed. I’ll gladly sacrifice our draft position if it means Shough looked good enough to be the guy.

You are picking top 12 regardless of what Shough does. If you aren't picking another QB, a few spots doesn't really mean anything.

There’s really no difference in this draft between players 1 through 6. 2027 is going to be super loaded with star players

You want the Saints to be the Power Bottom of the NFC South?

I'd rather know we have a QB good enough that we can build the rest of the team for the next 3 years and not worry about a QB.

I'm not sure if you can know that without wins, but maybe I'm wrong.

It's a catch 22 type situation. If we drop from 1 to 3, to like 5 to 6, but we know we have QB covered, I feel better about next years draft than the alternative.

we need to loose out and we will still know if he is good enough to lead our team even if that happens.

Id rather get top 2, trade back even if i dont get a ridiculous amount of assets, just a few good ones to help rebuild.

Jets, Raiders, and Browns will look at QB again, both have additional first rounders, we need more young players.

What good is a top pick if Loomis is still the one making it

more picks lowers the odds he can screw them all up.

I don’t care how many games we win if Shough looks like the real deal doing it. Now if we squeak out some pointless, ugly arse wins against other bottom feeders and lose 5-8 spots I wouldn’t say that’s ideal.

We would need Shough to play lights out. Throw the ball all around and end up losing shootouts to other teams. The defense or special teams would make enough mistakes to lose games.

We’d know Shough was the guy and we’d still have a top draft pick.

Crazy times. Lol.

If a few spots at the top of the first round doesn’t mean anything, why do teams give up future first round picks to move up like 3 spots?
