I think anyone that can run a competent offense would do well at LSU.

He’d likely do alright. I would rather Kiffin but LR would probably be my second choice, reluctantly, due to the lack of depth in the coaching market. I don’t think Riley would be a significant upgrade over BK but maybe a better team culture / environment

I feel like all of his teams are just soft. Yes they beat us 2 years ago, but it's obvious that BK made LSU soft. We do not need that

Do you not remember him begging OU not to join the SEC and subsequently leaving when they did?

I would question anyone who can't win a championship at USC.

"well" is quite subjective. Kelly ran a competent offense in 2023. In fact, the best offense in 2023. He arguably ran a "competent offense" last season. Yet, many on here would say he didn't do "well" at LSU.

Riley had a great offense at OU...and no defense

He's had a lesser offense (compared to his time at OU) at USC. Yet, the defense has been comparatively better. Regardless, he's arguably performed worse at USC than Kelly did at LSU. At minimum, not notably better.

History says he would likely perform the same at LSU. But history also said Kelly, the most accomplished HC LSU ever hired (at the time of his hring) would win a NC.

I don't know why everyone is down on this hire.

I think it would be a good hire.

BK Jr about 30 years younger.

Soft as toilet paper teams, horrible preparation which is why his defense is always bad or average even with a good DC like he currently has, can't win the big games, couldn't win anything with heisman caliber QBs. Any of this sounding familiar?

USC is ready to run him off and probably would be happy if someone stole him right now even though their season is doing okay in a competitive conference.

Agree with this but Lane's teams aren't exactly known as tough, punch-you-in-the-mouth teams either.
