Vote to release the Epstein files

Why in the hell does there have to be a vote to release the Epstein files? This makes zero sense. If this was truly criminal behavior that was taking place, as I am sure it was, this should be public record and not require any type of votes. It doesn't matter which party these sick people are tied to; they all should be exposed and prosecuted just like any other civilian.

Because your govt. is evil and corrupt.

These people in DC love nothing more than to parade around in ceremony & rituals they believe give themselves the appearance of power and importance.

It’s a club, and you aren’t in it

Because it gives Congress something to do that's politically related. They don't care about trying to pass any laws that will help the American people. Just keep the political banter rolling.

They could just read the names on the House floor since they have immunity from defamation

It's all politics. Trump/MAGA had the Epstein football for the past 10 years and squeezed it for everything they could politically. Then when the Democrats were in the minority, they called the bluff. As Dan Turrentine said yesterday, "You can't blame Democrats for having fun with this."
Like the JFK/MLK/RFK files, we're going to be sorely disappointed with whatever is in the Epstein files.

I could have sworn Biden was President with Pelosi as the Speaker in there somewhere and could have easily released them but then again you Epstein bros are pretty dense

So everyone can go on their preferred "news" network and give an interview about how their vote proves they are a valuable representative of the voters?....

and I could’ve sworn that Bongino, Kash, Bondi, and Trump all said they would release the files when they got an office.
And I remember a picture of Bondi releasing binders
And I remember Bondi telling me there were files and videos.
And then I remember all of them telling me that there were no files or lists and this was all a hoax.
Now they’re telling me that they are files, and the Trump that demanded that they be released. But for some reason, instead of just releasing them, there has to be a vote to release them.

The vote would be to remove legal bars for disclosure of certain documents/information.
Almost all documents that are not currently under some sort of gag order or prohibition (grand jury testimony/evidence) has already been produced either to the appropriate Congressional committees or publicly. The ones that fall outside of these are apparently those containing victim information.

Because if they release them the Hoax falls flat and the democrats look like fools again.
As long as there's "speculation" they can run to CNN and call Trump a pedo all day

There doesn't, I don't think, but I'm happy to learn something new.
It seems like whatever evidence exists under our control would be in 2 categories. Grand Jury stuff and court records, which could be blocked from release by the judiciary I suppose. The GJ stuff for sure will be blocked.
But it seems like our AG/DOJ would have most of it. There are pictures of boxes of DVDs, travel records, whatever they found at the island, maybe even some financial trails. Maybe not, but we don't know, and that's the point. Whatever the prosecution side of the DOJ has is under the control of the AG, who works for the president.

I think Epstein was a vile piece of shite. I think the same of his clients. However, if congress spent the same amount of time they spent on this to actually do something for this country we would be in a much better place. The republicans doing this are principled and the democrats are doing it to “get” Trump.
Can a bipartisan congress do something to actually help this country?

The best thing congress could do for this country is make lobbying illegal, setting term limits, making congressional insider trading illegal, actually holding people in contempt, setting and maintaining a budget, make pork bills illegal, only voting on one issue at a time, and actually controlling the purse strings while holding intel agencies accountable
If congress did its job, we wouldn't worry about the president as much

Like set term limits for senators and representatives?

I saw them slip a last second hemp ban into a government funding bill, eliminating the $30B THC beverage industry on behest of big alcohol with the stroke of a pen.
You as a citizen have no control. Like, at all. You have no control and you live in a country with politicians that can and will do anything they want to.
The Epstein Files will be released with redacted names to protect the GOP. Then later on, they'll be released by Dems with all those redacted names exposed. And even then, nothing will happen.

because when they say they are working "for you", they mean it, but they're behind you bending you over telling you how you like it.
