Coaches would leave for a tier above job. There is no tier above LSU's job, its in the elite tier with Ohio St., Texas, Georgia, Oregon

Yeah, I love LSU but Ohio State and Alabama are a tier above

Luckily we don’t have to worry about that anymore thanks to Saban waking up this sleeping giant.

I can remember a coach, Nick Saban, leaving on Christmas Eve or Day.

Merry F'ing Christmas...

So, its not too hard to imagine. Coaching jobs turn over this time of year. Somebody will be left holding nothing. It happens.

LSU is right with them in terms of head coaching jobs. Our last few seasons haven’t been as great as theirs but from a HC standpoint it’s the highest tier right with all the other top dogs.

Well, it almost happened to us in 2007. Was a total circus on the day of the SECCG, then we backed into the natty and the rest was history.

But if Herby doesn't blow the cover, it's very possible that Les leaves us for his dream job at Michigan.

Oregon

I don't include Oregon because they haven't had a tradition of winning titles

but money and resources, probably 2nd to none

Could you imagine the biggest crowd in the history of our stadium being about 15K less than the ACTUAL not paid attendance of a 4 loss team playing Arkansas at 11:30?

I still do not understand why it would matter that leak coming out. If he was their man, what did it matter.

You mispelled Alabama, it doesn't start with an O.

Correct - there is a less than 1% chance that would happen at LSU (and a couple of other places as well). Ole Miss, however, is - well, they are Ole Miss and they will always be Ole Miss. That’ll never change. It’s a place that a coach like Lane Kiffin leaves at a time like this to take a job at a place like LSU.
