All rumors claiming to be paying a guy that has no skins on the wall $4m plus higher than those coaches that won NC.

Just sit back and think about how absurd that is.

I've been making this argument since day 1.

After how big of a failure last year was, at that.

If you get Lane kiffin you will almost be guaranteed a top 10 if not top five offense in the country. That alone has a huge appeal to it

Let’s see if it’s north of 14.5

The biggest factor is the ability to buy players

Without players, you can’t win

Sad state of affairs

Well yea, LSU and Florida have managed to get themselves involved in Jimmy Sexton’s wet dream.

Kiffin is the lone guy worth it to me because of what he brings to the table offensively if we miss there I’d rather try for a younger dude on a good contract, like Golesh

Supply and Demand

Florida and LSU DEMAND coaches who can win them National Championships. The SUPPLY of those guys is limited. Saban is not getting back in the game. Smart and Day aren't leaving their programs. No one wants Dabo. Then you move to the next tier of guys who have had good success recently, but unlikely to leave their current spot: Lanning, Freeman, Cignetti.

Eventually you start to run out of names that maybe fit your LOFTY expectations. That means those guys can control the market.

If LSU doesn't want to pay that much, hire a G5 coach or power conf. assistant. But the fans and powers that be don't want "potential". They demand results, immediately.

We're a good 25 years or so away from getting one hell of a '30 For 30' on this fricks impact on an entire sport.

Imagine LSU's NC contender team lost to 1-7(SEC) Kentucky at home and was left out of CFP.

I like Fisch.

I'm not one of the Drink haters, but he and Kiffin are like mirrors of each other.

But I'd roll the dice on the UNT guy just because he could bring his QB with him.

Kroger's Spanish peanut was 3.99/bag of 1 pound last year and yesterday it's 5.99/bag.

If they whiff on LK, they better not overspend for a lower tier coach (Drink). That would be a waste of epic proportions. It’s either get LK or go cheap with a coordinator/young coach (Kelvin Sheppard).

Well that's part of why I said they were mirrors.

They were loaded last year and had a 1st rounder at QB and took some horrible Ls to miss the playoffs.

If Kiffin repeats that here, then we're kind of fricked because this contract won't be one that we can get out of in 4-5 years. I think Kiffin has a high floor (I was a big supporter of hiring him last go around) but his ceiling is capped until he can prove that he can win the big one and avoid mind-numbing losses along the way. It sounds a lot like Kelly.
