Don't care, chance to weed out quite a lot of waste. Anyone getting free benefits should have a hard time! If they don't like it, get a damn job!

Not sure why we needed yet another thread addressing this same announcement, but (again) it seems like an entirely reasonable requirement.

Russ Vaught at office of management and budget said DOGE found they had far more govt credit cards than employees. Granted some might have two legit, but many had no use for one at all.
So they were to cut them off and a judge stopped them, so they set the limit at 1 dollar.......many were never used again.
Tell the states you will not send funds until you get of those who reapply, and if any are bogus that person will be cut from not only food stamps but any govt programs.
Palantir can run those names in a heartbeat, thats how they found the first 700,000 in red states.
So they were to cut them off and a judge stopped them, so they set the limit at 1 dollar.......many were never used again.
Tell the states you will not send funds until you get of those who reapply, and if any are bogus that person will be cut from not only food stamps but any govt programs.
Palantir can run those names in a heartbeat, thats how they found the first 700,000 in red states.

It’s not even all about the money. An out-sized portion of our society has rotted into laziness and entitlement. These people need to learn that life requires work and nothing is free. Incentivizing single motherhood has repercussions Men need to be fathers and providers and the the women in that community need to take that into consideration, I hate that kids have to suffer because of of their parents being shitheads but things have to change or our country will continue to decline..

Sorry to disappoint everyone but recertification already happens.
Every state has a periodic recertification process that requires SNAP or food stamp recipients to update their whereabouts and earnings. Most municipalities require updated data every six to 12 months. If your income goes up materially many states will require you to recertify earlier.
So Trump is requiring the states to do something they already do.
