Would you be comfortable with Van Buren as QB1 next year?

I think I would, as long as we have the pieces around him to make the offense hum. To me, the transfer portal has fueled a lot of green grass syndrome in college football. QBs moving around, looking for a place to start, and only about half of them actually make an impact at the new place. I like MVB enough to say let’s hang onto him and go get the best OL money can buy.

Just keep getting him reps and bring in someone and they can battle. No need to decide that now

He’s a terrible passer, and while he will occasionally tuck and run, he’s hardly the second coming of Michael Vick.

So unless he makes big improvements, I’d rather find the next QB1 in the portal.

I like him, but we’re gonna get a better QB for next year. He’s gonna transfer to another school where he can be a hero and maybe raise his NIL value.

Only if we will be satisfied with 8-4 season. And maybe that will be a good season next year,, who knows. But the QB position has to be upgraded signficantly, and the model of the college qb has been demonstrated all over the country this year.

Really depends who the coach and/or OC is.

If Kiffin took the LSU job and thought MVB was good enough, then absolutely yes. He is going to the playoffs with a D2 QB so I’d trust him if he said MVB was his guy.

No. He's a poor passer and not a particularly effective runner. What does he do well? I want to believe a program like LSU can find a competent to good QB in the portal.

We need to find a diamond in the rough like the Ole Miss QB!

I think he has limitations, and I’d prefer we look for better in the portal if available, but I wouldn’t think the sky was falling if he was the guy.

With coaching, his accuracy might improve, which is my biggest issue with him. Unlike this year’s version of Nuss, MVB actually seems to make good decisions and confidently try to push the ball downfield…he’s just not good at hitting the throws. He doesn’t turn into a panicked puddle of sewage when the pocket breaks down, which I like.

No, he has no arm strength and an inaccurate passer.

He’s another Anthony Jennings

LSU has had two Heisman QBs in the last 7 years. How and why the frick are we pretending like Michael Van Buren can be a starting QB at lsu?

To be fair, he also had that QB riding the bench to start the year. He only started Chambliss because he had to

No, backup maybe. Need an experienced DT QB, MVB will hit the portal anyway. Hurley is very good but no experience.
