Texas Tech is a fundamentally sound football team on both sides of the ball.
He's still young enough at 54.
He won't command a gazillion dollars.
He's not tied to the school.
He's a very realistic option (stop with Kiffin, Saban, Lanning, etc).

He was an average HC until TTU’s big donor decided to vastly outspend the rest of the conference. That booster won’t follow up, nor would any booster be able to vastly outspend the rest of the SEC

Lincoln Riley wants that job yesterday. They would fire that guy(McGuire) in a heartbeat. He is a nameless faceless coach. He was basically a nobody a few years ago.

McGuire will be forgotten in a couple of years except if he goes back to coaching high school in Texas. Texas Tech wants a big name coach make no mistake about it. McGuire isn’t their guy.
