Lets explore the worst case. Frank Wilson is hired.

What happens?
Obviously he would be dirt cheap.
Basically name your price for an OC/DC with all the freed up money.
The rest can go into NIL.
And thats the worst case. Like the building is on fire worst case. LSU will be FINE.

LSU would be fine with Frank if they had a good staff. I haven’t seen anyone other than Lane, Elko, or Kirby that is worth the coin.

Don’t discount Wilson being named HC after this “heartwarming” display today.
It will be much like Orgeron. After we get turned down by Kiffin and a couple other big names, it will be a rage hire by Landry and the BOS with Ausberry as their puppet.
“We don’t need these high dollar coaches! We’ve got somebody who WANTS the job and he LOVES Louisiana!”

If we got him in a cheap contract, and he got stud coordinators, and we could invest in an elite roster, I see no reason why it couldn’t work.

Would not surprise me in the slightest. I could see going “all in” for Lane and then once he plays us like a fiddle, falling straight back into Frank. They’ll mention “good fit” as nauseum to try and sell the hire.
I have PTSD from the Orgeron “search”. I have no faith in LSU doing a thorough, due diligence filled, proper search. We all know Louisiana LOVES the path of least resistance.
Literally no other P4 school would even entertain this idea but here we are (again).
