What is coming out is Kiffin is LSU's top choice and will has an offer around 13-14 million but Kiffin isn't interested and LSU doesn't expect it to go anywhere. But they are trying to shoot their shot before they move on. Also says that Riley almost pulled the trigger on LSU the first time and is having regrets and could be interested for the LSU job.
BTW the Kiffin to UF thing is going down to the wire. I don't think Lane has made a decision yet. He grew up when UF was really good. Ex Wife's Dad played QB there. His Dad coached in Tampa. Called it a Blue Blood in the Dellenger article that came out today. But also is very happy at life in Oxford. Who knows.

Disagree that he’s not interested in LSU.
It’s a better job than UF and going there for nostalgia reasons when LSU is setup for success sooner is odd to me.

It always seemed unlikely Kiffin would choose LSU over UF all things being equal.

Riley is too flaky. But there’s also not a perfect candidate. Out of a drink and Freeman, I’ll take Riley. It’s just supports the theory that Kelly was a panic hire after Riley said no at the last second. Which I’ve heard from more than one person.

You sound very similar to myself when speaking to Oklahoma fans about having Riley in the bag in 2021. They were adamant he was staying.

UF has 2 major hurdles to get over to get Lane.
1) The playoff situation. Ole Miss isn't going to let him coach the playoffs if he is going to UF. So you are telling me Lane is going to quit on his team before the playoffs to take another job?
2) For the first time since he was in California he has 4/5ths of his family in one city. Everyone is thriving. He gets to be Dad and is very comfortable in life.
Does that stop him from leaving? No idea. I think if Ole Miss had lost to OU and was on the outside looking in, the chances of him moving on are much higher.
