Been a costco member for several years. Recently got a sams card that was basically free.
Not impressed. Some of the same stuff at very close prices which was good.
The members mark vs Kirkland was disappointing.
Instance: bag of kirkland bacon bits is majority meat. Members mark wayy more fat and gristle.
Members mark green olives are mushy and taste "off". Hell, Great Value olives are better than MM
The bag of pecan halves are almost as good but Kikland's are fresher.
Worst of all, the employees are pretty much the same as walmart employees. HUGE dropoff from Costco.

I'd get a Costco membership but the nearby location is god awful logistically speaking.

Sam’s has the benefit of scan and go, seeing in store pricing on the app, order pickup, and the like. Costco does have some better products but the shopping experience can be a lot better at Sam’s when you don’t have to check out through a register.

I like both, but buy more at sams. It's typically a bit cheaper on same products.

Sam's has scan and go, shorter fuel lines, but is a lot more Walmartish inside.

I don't know why anyone would go through the regular check out when scan and go is available.
Costco checkout is bullshite in this day and age. I just order online from them.

In general Costco is better.. but if you want bulk things like name brand candy.. gum.. life savers.. gotta go to Sam’s .. sams offers a little difference in pre made food stuff so you get variety if you go to both. I get my steaks from Sam’s .. we buy their fillets and I think Sam’s beef in general is better..
Both have the same “ every trip is a surprise” marketing concept where they will have end of aisle special items that run for a few weeks and are some name brand item at a discount ..both offer decent clothing deals .. Costco may be jack Nicholas pants.. Sam’s banana republic..
We use them both along with Albertsons and Walmart .. depends

I have both memberships and prefer Costco in pretty much everyway but Scan & Go at Sam's is an absolute game changer. I have no idea why Costco doesn't implement a version of it.

Almost forgot about scan and go. That was pretty cool.
But the costco checkout at the BR location is usually fast even if they look backed up.

The FORTY-EIGHT foot industrial outdoor LED lights started out at $49, then on sale occasionally for $39, then $29 back in the spring on sale..and the flyer I got in the mail today said they're now $23 in stores. 
i can attest these things are incredible. i have 300' of them strung to guy wire in my backyard and they give you 3-4 extra in each box so i have a whole carton of these if any ever go out.

Would kick arse b/c Costco lines can be a massive cluster frick when they get backed up.

Sams is cheaper for membership and better if using fueling. imho
Sams also has the 2 main things I get in bulk, but the bacon is a huge disappoint compared to Costco.
Costco items are better along with Eyeglasses and other services like tires.
Will need a hearing aid soon so Costco for me every 2 years for glasses and hearing aid. lol

Especially at the lunch counter- why wait in that long arse line for a $2 slice of pizza when you can order it while you shop and pick it up on your way out? I want to teach everyone about Scan & Go
