What is your Favorite Cake / Pie in Baton Rouge bought at restaurant or store bought?

Just going to be 2 of us for Thanksgiving in BR area. We decided to do all non traditional thanksgiving premade items. We got all but deserts..

The Eye of the Tiger pie at Elsie's is one of the best things I've ever tried, but you never know when it's on the menu. Also, the bananas foster cheesecake at Southern Pearl is sinful. And honestly, everything I've ever had from the bakery at Oak Point grocery has been fantastic.

I love the chocolate pecan pie from Elsie's every year at Thanksgiving. That reminds me, I need to go pre-order now.

Has noticeably declined in quality in the past few years.

I always thought it was overrated. Tasted like Cool Whip.

Chocolate cream pie from Piccadilly. Make damn sure it’s not the sugar free version.

Fresh markets pies are all excellent and they sell half pies. Their apple pie is as good as any homemade I've ever had. Their cherry pie is good if cherries are your thing.

being to buy only 1/2 is great to me as we will never eat even 2 or 3 slices.

Ambrosia Strawberry. It’s delicious but also very light imo, so it’s a great after lunch or dinner desert

I guess it counts as cake... petit fours are my favorite. It's hard to stop eating them when they are good.

We used to buy them at Cake Palace years ago when visiting BR family. I think it's closed now. I think we've gotten some at Gambino's since then but it's been a while.

I like Ambrosia Bakery's Ambrosia Cake. It's a white cake with three layers of filling: strawberry, lemon and coconut, with a white buttercream frosting.
