Whoever LSU ends up hiring, especially if it’s a coordinator or a Group of Five coach...how long will fans give the new coach to turn things around, and what will the expectations be?

There will be posters who want him fired the day he is hired.

This team is ready to win a lot of games right away if we can keep the roster in tact.

Patience in year 1 will have a lot to do with the portal activity, going both in and out of the roster.

I'd take Elko-like success. Year 2 undefeated and locked into the SECCG. That's all I ask.

Year 2 is when I start judging. Look at what Cignetti and Elko did. Dillingham in year 2 got Arizona state to the playoffs. By year 3 if it’s not showing signs of working I doubt it ever will.

Need to be very patient. If you fire another coach after 3-4 years, people will start thinking twice about coming down here.

It depends on what we see with our eyes? I remember Saban struggling at LSU. But you could tell he was working hard, demanded excellence, was building he facilities, and you could see with your eyes how hard the players were playing during those days. Also, the coaches weren't so stubborn. Even though they made mistakes, they didn't keep doing the same thing over and over.

The problem lies in the fact that everyone in here has an opinion. It’s much like politics. They won’t listen to any on the contrary to whom they like/ want. Seems like 3/4 of the posters will essentially be unhappy regardless. It’s a crap shoot. I still remember “Nick who?! From Michigan state?! The guy Dinardo beat in Shreveport 2 years ago?! We’re paying him how much?!”
I was one of them. I wanted Pat Sullivan over Curly. I loved Dinardo until he became too stubborn. I wanted Jimbo over Les. (Didn’t even know who Les was). I wanted Herman. I said to hire Kiffin 4 years ago, although I thought Kelly would end up being very successful. The expansion to 12 teams does make the margin of error greater in terms of wins/losses, but lessens it amongst fans. Conference championships have become superfluous. Just get in and host a home playoff game. Ya just need to go 10-2. That’s not too much to ask.
Then again, I’m “spoiled”.

I’d rather fire somebody than make a hire any day of the week.

Rousse and Verge should’ve been fired already.

Patient? If he’s hired before the end of the season and we lose a game some idiots on Facebook will be blaming him for the loss.

There were Bama fans that wanted DeBoer fired after his first press conference. So, probably about that long.
