Would you consider hiring a young coach who is a first-time HC in a Div I power 5…

conference who got hired at that school and they had had several years of a losing record. The guy turns things around but loses his first three bowl games, but his overall record is only

34-24-1

In his final season… 9-2 & finally wins their bowl game.

No? Not a proven guy? Too risky? I think we all like the idea of hiring a big, known winner… but the last time we did that it didn’t work out so great, did it? I loved the Kelly hire but things are very different these days, and I’m convinced that we need to go after someone who is young and motivated and has shown that he can turn things around like this guy did at Michigan State. Yep, that’s Nick Saban.

Guy sounds a lot like Rhett Lashlee. And I’m sure there’s some other young talented guys we could target. Thoughts?

I would be ecstatic if we hired the north Texas coach. It is a gamble, no matter which criteria you use to find a coach.

Bring him and that QB and I'm happy with it.

that is the approach I will support. but my choice is Alex Golesh.
He meets ever metric that LSU needs imho.
There are others, but I really think some team is going to get the next saban, but on the offensive side of the ball. Something LSU sorely needs.

Yes as long as LSU cleans football coaching house from top to bottom. Release everyone and start from scratch.

Kyle Williams?? I kinda like the way the defensive line is played and I think he’s a solid guy.

we're going to end up hiring a HC from a lower tier P4 school or a Group of 5 school.

Saban came from Michigan State to LSU, Urban Meyer from Utah to Florida, Kirby Smart, Ryan Day, even Dabo were first time head coaches.

We're done with landing a big fish for massive dollars.

Bring Eric Morris as a HC , hopefully Baker can’t find a solution for stopping a running quarterback.

I had not heard of the Bama or aTm coach before they were hired. What rock did they crawl out from?

It's going to be an interesting search. LSU is not landing (or maybe even going after) a BIG hire (outside of the Saban pipe dream). But then some of the "second tier" guys have reasons to stay beyond money. Key, Dillingham, Lea and Brohm are all at their alma maters.

I don’t want the Tulane coach. Maybe another one, but not him
