Same thing I've witnessed this year in south ms, both the white oaks and the swamp chestnut oaks, best crop I have seen in years.

Usually means deer will be more nocturnal that usual and the fat cap will be thicker along the back when you pull the hide down.

Plan on picking a few buckets every weekend and keep them till later in the season after the ones on the ground get wet and freeze and sour , then start putting out the ones we picked?????

It's a mast year for oaks in my region of the country... maybe it's a mast year where you're at too.

The cow oak nuts aren’t bad sauteed in butter and some Tony’s. They’re the least tannic of all acorns I believe.

Killing us in SC, too. The deer don’t have to move far on my wife’s family land bc the white oaks are so abundant.

Pretty sure they can not be made edible because my pawpaw didn’t eat them!!!

Neighbor's Live Oak has dropped so many acorns this year that the yard under it is carpeted with them. Biggest crop I've seen from that tree in many years.

My driveway gets covered in them. Remove them, and it's recarpeted in a day. They've finally started to slow down in the last week or so.

You can absolutely eat acorns. You have to boil the crap out of them multiple times.

Same in South Ark. I can put out 50 lbs of corn and it'll take a week for it to get eaten where normally that might be gone in a night or two.

Acorns everywhere.

Our lease is a different story... not a lot of hardwoods and they are on feed a lot better but my land at the house, if you ain't on mast trees you might as well stay at the house.

We had a very dry summer, which I believe is the reason why there are no acorns or apples where I hunt. Didn’t see many deer this October like we normally would. Hoping it’ll be better next year.

I’ve done that . It works. Keep em dry and cool. Stored mine in a burlap bag. Keeps the moisture from setting in.
