Companies that were founded in Louisiana but relocated out of state.

Example: Raising Canes was founded in Baton Rouge and moved it's headquarters to Dallas.
Would love to know the backstories of why they moved.
Being bought out by another company and moving doesn't count.

Two big drivers - 1) talent for high level restaurant executives. BTR has zero, there are several big chains with corporate offices in DFW.
2) quality of life - BTR offers little in the way of quality of life for folks in the 8-9 figure and up net worth category.
The folks who made the decision to move were jumping on private planes for game weekends to still enjoy LSU games.

Not Louisiana born but Shell's biggest North American presence throughout the 20th century was in NOLA... my dad worked for them for years. They packed up and moved everything to Houston.
You know why.

That's easy. Business tax incentives in other states, lack of state income tax in other states, the shitty politics in LA, etc.

Delta and Century Link/Lumen. Both from Monroe. No clue how they could possibly leave here for places like Denver and Atlanta. Idiots

Canes moved most of their operations to Dallas, but their corporate HQ is still in BR

The Mecca of corporate restaurant home offices is in DFW Frisco area.
