-UNT HC currently 8-1
-Former Texas Tech OC for Mahommes
-HC for Incarnate Word - 2018 Southland Conference coach of the year
-2020-21 he coaches Cam Ward into a big name at IWU and then follows him to Wash St as their OC; Ward then goes to Miami and Morris becomes the UNT HC
-First year at UNT develops Chandler Rogers (29/5 TD/INT) who transfers to Cal
2nd Season QB Chandler Morris (31/12 TD/INT) transfers to UVA
-3rd season at UNT takes FR QB Drew Mestemaker and he's 21/4 TD/INT averaging 300 ypg (through 9 games). UNT averages 44.4 ppg. Washington St that held Ole Miss to 24 points got beat by UNT 59-10.

Maybe he needs a look as an OC, because he cranks out great offenses and QBs. He makes 900k as the UNT HC. He's only 40 and likely will get looks for top OC and HC jobs. Pair him with a solid DC and he's going to be a star.

It’s either Golesh or Morris for me if LSU can’t get Saban or Kiffin

LSU isn't looking in the freaking American Conference for a coach.

Not now. But if/when bigger names say no, your options change.

It's a joke because Golesh and Sumrall keep getting brought up.

But, if you ask me of the 3, which coach has a talent for one side of the ball, it's Morris hands down.

I'm more interested in landing a talented, hungry coach than a big name. Kelly was a big name and look what that got us.

I’d take golesh over morris slightly but both over sumrall

Golesh has schemed an offense in the SEC already and I think there is something to that. Morris has high level coordinator experience at TT, and sumrall was a co-dc for 1 year at Kentucky

I still think Morris lands at Oklahoma State.

I wonder if Arkansas would consider him.

Morris, Collin Klein, Maguire will all compete with the open jobs in that area

We’d instantly have one of the best playcallers in the p4 every year if we hired Morris. But there is more to running a program as big as LSU. His defense most years at UNT has been atrocious. Made a big leap there this season.

Found Miles in the Big 12. How did he do following the GOAT?

I get nervous when considering these guys from these small conferences. We see what happened with Napier at UF. You really don't know what you are getting and how they would handle the huge programs and the much better talent.

Possibly, but LSU is slightly ahead of the game vs many programs with the GM model under Austin Thomas. He came back in Jan of 24' and just started filling out his staff in the last 6 months so it's still a work in progress, but it takes a lot of the admin and roster management duties away from the HC so he can focus on running the team.

IMO some of the Napier issues that cropped up at Florida were present in Lafayette as well. He made some puzzling decisions in game, and his offenses with him as the primary playcaller were often good, but not amazing.

I watch a decent amount of UNT - Morris seems better at both those things than Billy. But I'm unsure how good he would be at the program mangement "stuff" that's so important at a top 10 job like LSU

He seems like a great target for an Arkansas, Oklahaoma State, etc. where the expectations are not as high and he has more time to gain experience at that sort of thing.

Schematically NT is top 3 in CFB from what I’ve watched.

That team is a nightmare to deal with even without any elite talent.

Saban was raving about it on Gameday last weekend.

Well, they went looking for a damn whale with Kelly and look what that got us. Last I checked, they play 11 v 11 in the American Conference same as the SEC.

What blows me away is a guy like this would get a look at for OC of LSU and that would be consider risky.

LSU hired Sloan who only had experience at La Tech as a coach. Literally only one stop, no where else. Tell me what is wrong with that… Shows me how lazy we were hiring.
