I've worn johnston and murphy's for years, but i've noticed with the newer ones i've purchased they are nowhere as near as comfortable as they used to be. i do a lot of moving around and walking all day, but i am in an office environment and cannot go do tennis shoes or anything like that.

Old man Reeboks.
Just kidding. Make sure whatever shoe you pick is right for your foot. What may be comfortable to one person is uncomfortable or even bad for another person to wear.

It’s crazy how casual it’s gotten
I just got back from our company meeting and all of our senior leadership had the casual sketchers or white shoes with a blazer

Yep. This is how China wins.

Just don’t get anything with white soles. They look awful.

any man wearing tennis shoes with a suit should be beat with a sock of oranges

I’ve started wearing Amberjacks and I find them comfortable. I just wore them to a 3 days conference in Vegas (I walked 5-6 miles a day) and my feet didn’t bother me.

At one time, Florsheim was the shoe to have and they've fallen from grace and not what they used to be. I've had older Johnson & Murphy's resoled and they've begun to show age but still will do in a pinch.
I've retired so I'm not wearing dress shoes like I once did and have tried to embrace the new look but they're just not comfortable all day long. I like the monk straps.
I've tried loafers, chelseas (gosh awful), and oxfords but honestly not impressed. I hate sneakers with a suit and the white bottomed look.

Tecova boots
Sperry boat shoes
Columbia tennis shoes
Obviously different if in field offices, though I also wouldn't call steel-toes as go to for comfort either. More like a must have.

J&M is still my go-to. I've had a couple of pairs that I rotate that have lasted me since 2015.

Brooks Brothers. Old school, no cushy fake padding BS. It's just your foot, your dress sock, and 1/4" of leather between you and the concrete.

Doc Marten Reeder in Brown. They are just slightly different from what everyone else wears, but they still fit the office look.
Everyone else at my office wears the typical brown Oxford-style shoes with white soles, and that is not my style, to say the least.

Why can't they just make the tennis shoe models without the white?
Ecco is the answer here.

When the fascist takeover happens, we are making everyone wear ties again.

I’ve tried many different brand of shoe. Some with a lot of cushion. I always keep going back to the traditional Sperry topsider. I like the thin minimalist soles. It’s almost feels like you are barefoot.
