Sure, he was better.

He also was a below average quarterback who was a career loser with a $150 million contract.

I’ll take our current QB situation.

He was an average qb who would’ve kept us in this cycle of winning 6-8 games.

DC4 will be inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 4 years!

He is beloved by Saints Talk members.

We’ll always have the first couple of games last year in our hearts.

Why do people have to think in only extremes? Carr wasn’t terrible. Carr wasn’t great. He was an average QB on a bad team that got his WRs killed from time to time. He also would miss an open WR sometimes. He did throw a great deep ball. Every two to three games he would make a great play and make a boneheaded play.

Why can’t we just agree he is what he is instead of the crap that’s quoted?

Probably.

Absolutely not. Management has finally accepted a rebuild. Seeing what we have in rattler & Shough while resetting the cap is far more important than winning 4 games with Carr.

Shut up.

Seriously?

You have no clue about what you are talking about, much less QB play and what is good or bad.

He definitely wasn’t a GREAT QB, but the people who think this are fricking retarded. He had around 100QB rating in his time here. He was a DECIDEDLY above average-good QB and the Saints paid him market value.

Now if you want to argue that they shouldn’t have gone that route to begin with…..fine, but to say that he was over paid or bad is ignorant.

That said, I am glad that we are leaning into the rebuild…….and the ONLY thing that matters now is finding the next franchise QB. If Shough can be that guy (odds are against it), that would make this rebuild go A LOT faster.

So hopefully Shough builds on a pretty good first career start and shows that he can be the guy

Just like you. You and carr would have a bunch of stuff in common if he came back to the NFL. You both said you quit, and you both came back. You both are full of shite.

He did. Then after he restructured (while refusing a pay cut) he disclosed an injury that would require surgery and threatened his ability to play in 2025

Wow, so by now we most likely have 2 or 3 wins instead. Ultimately ending up in the same position we have been year after year.

Buckle up buttercup, we are bottoming out and its a good thing

Carr was a statue, and wouldnt have lasted a full season with this O-Line.

He might have done a little better with Cooks this year.

But we still would have struggled in the red zone.

Did you forget he retired from injury? Do you think the team would be better with him on the bench this year?
Yes, Carr is the best qb on this roster if he were healthy. He’s an avg-below avg nfl starter. The team was very lucky he saved them a lot of $$$ from that way too generous contract.
