Damn, Rand... Withholding lawmaker pay is the ONLY sensible thing to do, the only principled thing.

The friggin military or ATC or TSA sure as hell can't vote to keep THEIR paychecks coming on time.

What respect I had for this cat is gone.

Which libertarian is going to jump on here and try to convince me that Rand is still a rock-solid conservative
quote:

Paul: "I don't want to pay LESS PEOPLE [during a shutdown], I want to pay MORE."

Hes a fraud. We've tried to tell you that. But hes convinced you libbers that hes so much more intelligent than you. And always right

So, if I'm understanding this right, Kennedy supported bill that Senator Ron Johnson filed, the "No Shutdown Act", multiple times, which would pay politicians in this same kind of scenario, as well as all federal workers, but Paul is the bad guy here for basically backing a bill that Kennedy himself supported numerous times?

And Rand brings up great points about the bill he wants, which would further force Democrats' hands in admitting they just want the gravy train for illegals to continue, yet Kennedy thinks this wouldn't pass the house or be signed by Trump....and that's the main reason he wouldn't support it.

What am I missing here?

For clarity's sake, I want the government "shut down" to last an eternity.

Principled!

I said this before. Even though Rand doesn’t like big spending bills he votes on things he wants to spend money on. Just like everyone else in Congress.

He’s no different than any of them.

The House is really where this kind of non-spending thing should take place.

It's a good idea for Congress to get the same treatment that federal workers get.
